I finished this last weekend, just didn't feel like messing with editing the pictures. A little background on this first, Black Lightning was Reaper's volunteer demo organization and for a while they used to give these unavailable-to-the-public arms for putting on a Dictator 60. My understanding is that the fluff was that they were prototypes of the gauss cannons used on the Dictator 70. I was never a member of the Black Lightning program, though I had bounced the idea around in my head a few times.
A couple years ago a friend of my sent them to me with the promise that I use them. I almost immediately assembled the model, but then I deployed, then moved, and have just now gotten around to painting it.
I'm not entirely sure that I'm happy with the painting on this. My CAV painting ability has apparently decreased somewhat as it has been a couple years since I've painted one as I've been focusing on my startships and 15mm. Well, as much as you can call my frequency of painting "focused." This turned out only partially what I was seeing in my minds eye. I'm thinking that once I get back to my former skill I may strip this one and start over.

Two Down....
...and I'd rather not think about how many to go.
Finished up a Dictator 60 and a Dictator 70 today. Didn't take pics of the 60 as it's in my usual red and gold pattern for my Rach force. The 70 is a little more...unique. I've been thinking about painting a CAV in teal and purple for some time now and decided to do up a Dictator 70 and use it to represent Estrang "Nyuleoon" Duvork of the Khun Du Ramach from the excellent Mil-Net sourcebook "War For Sale." I'll get some better pics after I seal the mini.

Who was driving that truck???
Man, what a month March was. Barely even got to touch minis after my last game. Speaking of which, I have a ton of pictures that need to be downloaded.
Just finished putting a wash on a Tiger, a Puma, and a Jaguar. Haven't had the best of luck with washes using MSP Brown Liner lately. I'm thinking it's all the flat areas, because when it dries it pulls away from the recesses I want the liner in. Maybe I should just save the liners for the organic type minis and go back to using paint for washes rather than the liners.
Well, with luck, this weekend I can finish up these Ritterlich minis and work on a couple of Dictator's. One 60 and one 70. After reading RAGE Chronicles 2008 and looking at the datacards, I'm going to be happy I bought a third Dictator 70. After those it'll be on to a couple of Hughes-Marietta CAVs.
